We have owned the Milky Way since 1992. My mom Barbara Schwolsky and myself,Carol Shannon. The Milky Way was in Downtown Orlando on Orange Avenue for about thirteen years.
We became one of the first piercing/tattoo shops downtown and were the first one to open on Orange Ave. Most people grew up calling Barb "Mom" as if she were their own mother. Some we have seen go from teenager to young adult to now...seventeen years later married with families of their own. Throughout the years we have had a great time meeting and helping people to find the art that they decide to put permanently on their skin for life.
It's a hard choice and we enjoy making the customer comfortable in making their decision. We are a family run business and therefore are a very homey down to earth environment that makes our customers feel welcomed and safe. We are a drug and alcohol free working environment, very involved in our families. Shayne Prevatt has been working for the Milky Way about 7 years. He has been tattooing about 15 years. Shayne is a talented artist in every form. He uses several mediums to show off his talents not just in ink!!! He just created a new design for our "Shop Shirt". If you can't find it Shayne can draw it custom just for you. He makes what you want the most that it can be. He has a great demeanor:nice, mellow,humble and FULL of talent. He is from the new blood of artists that tattoos from more than just a technicians angle, he is using ink like paint on a canvas!!! Come and be his next work of art....

Carol - Piercing
Carol Shannon has been body piercing for about 12 years. Her family business and her family at home are her two most important things in life.She enjoys the pleasure on her clients faces after they have been pierced. "I love that they are so excited they finally got a look or style added to their persona that maybe they felt had been missing." She uses what is required in the state statutes for Body Piercing. Carol takes about 30 minutes with each client. I make sure to inform the client about everything before and after they have been pierced.
